   Pomegranate belongs to the pomegranate family. It has the functions of astringing intestines, clearing heat and eliminating dampness. It is commonly used in the treatment of a variety of diseases and has the inhibitory effect on influenza virus. The Persians took it as a dyed material in 11th century. The dried peel was ground into powder with a camel-drawn stone sarcophagus which is used for yarn and velvet dyeing.Then this method was introduced in China. Greenish Yellow, as The China traditional color, is dyed with pomegranate peel.
