It has the bell-shaped lower calyx, and the upper part is unopened corolla of different sizes and sparsely white pubescent . Sophora japonica L has crunchy texture, weak smelling, and slightly bitter taste. The flowers are green and thick, the buds are strong, and those without branches are preferred. Sophora japonica L is a natural plant dye, which can not only be used as a food coloring, but also a dye for textile.
